People dumped their so called "loved pet" ?

The intention to open an animal shelter is to let more people know about the kittens/cats adoption program so that more people can come to adopt a kitten/cat, but in fact more people come to abandoned their un-want kittens/cats.

People come in to tell you all kind of reasons just want to get off their own responsibility to take care their so called "loved pet". Usually i wouldn't accept the kittens unless the owner promise to neuter the mother cat. But for those who even don't want keep the mother cat, i have no choice but to get them off my shelter-those irresponsible human are not welcomed to my shelter!!!

However, compare with those irresponsible human, there are even have lot of so called "non-heart human" who just dumping a box outside the shelter with all kinds of found inside - very sick kittens, pregnant cat, even newborn kittens with eyes no opened....i asked myself many times how human heart can be so cruel, dumping the litter kittens this way and let them suffer to die? why not allow them to be with their mother cat until they can eat by self? they also a life like you and me!!

Humans... some just think that they are some superior species. Anyways, I plan to start a shelter like yours and have thought about the same problem... what happened if people want to dump their cats and kittens to me?

1. If they dump both mom and kitten.
I'll start up a lecture session before I accept them. With some payment for their guilty deeds.

2. If they dump only kittens
Attend my lecture session, they have to spay their cats, and pay some money.

3. Put on cctv around housing area to avoid those heartless beast to 'dump-n-run'.

4. Warm if those heartless people deny their deeds, put the video photo on public to set them a shame! (print little posters and gave it to their neighbors)

5. I plan to have awareness lecture and giving leaflets every month to improve local people understanding of stray cats problem.

I hope my method won't be 'too mean' to those heartless beast. And I'll share my plans with you. Wish you good luck too!

Hi,

great to hear that you also intend to set up a shelter to help those strays and dumped animals.

your suggestion No. 1 & 2 , i am also doing now to educate people, maybe i will conside the No.3 to put cctv around since most people are those 'dump-n-run' type!!

anyway, thanks for your understanding...
